Design of mechanical and electrical systems for a new 58,000 SF judicial center. Facility includes Courtrooms; Courtroom/Hearing Rooms; Grand Jury areas; Judges’ Chambers, Law Library; Circuit Court Clerk offices and Prisoner Handling Facilities.
The HVAC system is comprised of a high efficiency water source heat pump with a dedicated outside air unit that includes an energy recovery wheel. The court rooms are equipped with CO2 sensors to regulate outside air levels and provide adequate room air changes. The HVAC system is zoned to provide individual occupancy temperature controls. The building is also equipped with a high efficiency boiler to provide domestic hot water.
The lighting system is controlled by a zoned control system with occupancy sensors. The building’s electrical system includes a portable generator connection to allow the building to function at 100 percent in the event of a total power outage.
